TimesOfIndia are reporting that Microsoft is going to be giving licenses to their WP platform for free to OEMs in India. Lava and Karbonn have confirmed that they’ll be making WP devices. This makes it more attractive for those who may have been swayed towards Google due to it being cheaper. Perhaps something MS should have done from the get-go (technically there was a flow back from MS as they paid Nokia to use the platform and Nokia then paid for licenses in return). Unlike Google’s platform, I don’t think there’ll be a charge to use Microsoft services like there is for Android OEMs using the Google services.

Cheers Alvester for the tip!
