Nokia “Monarch” heading for T-Mobile? #LumiaRoyalty

| March 27, 2014 | 9 Replies

Quick heads up. @evleaks tweets that there is something called the Nokia “Monarch” heading to T-Mobile. A bit of Lumia Royalty? Head of State for T-Mob? A version of the ICON or a WP8.1 device, possibly a variant of the 930?

What do you guys think?

Cheers Gen for the tip

Good for Nokia/T-Mobile. They have the super popular 521 but other than that, the 925. I just made the switch to Android by trying the Galaxy Light but if Windows can get Swype, I will give it a try.

    RIP Symbian/Meego.

    I hope it’s a high end device. Hoping for a 1520 variant.

I bet it is the RM 938 version of the 1520.

Great, T-Mo needs a new higher end Lumia. If its good, might even consider switching to T-Mo from AT&T.

No one seems to know just what this is yet. Some reports say the 630, other say the 1320. Would be nice if it’s the RM-938 variant of the 1520.

On a somewhat unrelated note, just played with the Lumia Icon. It’s the exact same size as my 920. That was disappointing. I’d like a flagship that’s in between the 920 and 1520 sizes.

I thought the Icon had a 5″ screen? I also believe Verizon wanted Nokia to trim the size of the phone to appease the taste of their customers. So it could be that Nokia was able to trim the size and at the same time increase the screen size.

That’s what I thought to, Alon. I promise you, I took my Lumia 920 out and placed it right on top of the Icon, and it was the exact same size. I was surprised, and did it a few times to make sure. Like you said, I guess they trimmed the size of the phone down while still being able to increase display size. I was a bit disappointed, as I didn’t notice a difference in the display really, aside from better viewing angles.

Now I’m hoping the 930 has a 5.2″ or 5.3″ display but that’s very wishful thinking I’m sure.
