Nokia (old) has bought mapping startup, Desti, which uses AI and natural language processing to help people find what they’re looking for. Desti was linked to the group that produced Siri, SRI-international.

Desti’s technology will be incorporated into HERE and the backend will become part of the platform over time. This goes way beyond maps as it allows users to discover information in a more intuitive way.

The likes of Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook and various in car navigations will benefit from this acquisition.
