@evleaks says that with the final stages of branding getting sorted, we may see handsets being called “Nokia by Microsoft”. Hopefully that will be a long term solution as opposed to the temporary fix MS has for using the Nokia name in smartphones.

In terms of tablets, in order to streamline the brand, Lumia might be replacing Surface. Whilst the Surface 3 has received very positive reviews, it might require Lumia to bring Microsoft’s tablets to a wider audience (that’s if they wish to stick Lumia for RT…unless WP is replacing RT and therefore Lumia with WP on a tablet makes sense?). Could be Lumia for phones, Lumia Surface for tablets?

Nokia By Microsoft helps to educate those who aren’t sure what’s going on with Nokia, but still keeps that remarkably powerful brand in play.
