A catch up post:

IDC reports that iOS and Android are now account for 96% of the market. Windows Phone accounts for 2.5% of a much larger 301.3 million smartphone shipment volume.

Compared to this time last year, less handsets were shipped. So it wasn’t like WP just didn’t grow with the market. It declined. The once might BlackBerry is at 0.5% with “others” accounting for 0.6%.

iOS has also declined, from 13% to 11.7%, the biggest percentage loss (1.3%). They have however sold more than Q2 2013 – it’s just not at the pace of the market (defined by Android)
