Lumias and co sways IKEA to choose Qi Wireless Charging standard for their furniture

Screen Shot 2015-03-01 at 12.50.22For those folks that have Qi Wireless Charging on their Lumias, IKEA (the largest manufacturer of furniture) is going to have built in wireless charging. Set your phone on your coffee table or night stand, boom, charging. Possibly desks and other types of furniture too.

Why Qi?

The volume of smartphones in the market, which includes select Lumia, LG and Samsung handsets, swayed the furniture giant

More and more mobile manufacturers are picking up the Qi standard. Hopefully when Apple gets in the game, it might choose that too rather than their own proprietary iCharge or whatever.
