The latest will they, won’t they is of course Nokia coming back to smartphones. In the past Nokia has constantly denied rumours only for them to become true, e.g. coming back to devices…no..no..no…here’s the N1 guys.rajeev_suri_1803

Well that might be shortening a more complicated story but nobody’s got time for that full recap.

Manager-Magazin.de reports that Rajiv Suri is acknowledging a Nokia return to the smartphone market. Well of course, due to the clause of prohibited Nokia smartphones till 2016, then I guess they can’t really confirm anything. With regards to licensing the Nokia brand to manufacturers (e.g. N1) Suri is quoted to have said:

Note that this is an automated translation from German:

We are to look for suitable partners…

…Microsoft manufactures mobile phones, we would only design and make the brand name on the license is available, but of course we would be attacking able otherwise. we could be equal to his

Nokia is also supposed to be considering selling HERE to the German automotive group comprising of Audi, BMW, and Daimler but is waiting around for a higher offer. Suri is in no hurry to offload HERE unless they get good value for HERE.

Cheers jiipee for the tip!
