I thought I could wait until the new iPhone was announced to make up my mind. My 1520 on W10M was getting too frustrating to use (twitter tells me a few did the same and just reverted back to 8.1).

So now, after my stint with Android on the Note 4 (good but then infuriating experience with lag and abysmal battery life) I’ve masochistically gone for round 2, this time for the stunning Edge 6 Plus version is Gold Platinum. In a previous post, I mentioned it reminded me a bit of the N9’s curved edges. Here the Edge Plus.

Here’s an unboxing:

Picked this up from Carphone Warehouse. It’s the 64GB version. Unlocked. Apparently it should come with that fast wireless charger to be sent to my house on Tuesday.s6 Edge plusIMG_2919Samsung galaxy s6 Edge plusIMG_2920Samsung galaxy

Voila. I think it’s pretty. Ever since the S6 Edge (normal) it has been turning my head where ever I see it.s6 Edge plusIMG_2922Samsung galaxy

Pamphlets

Included key for nano sim that kinda looks like a pin map. Which reminds me to install HERE as the auto reinstaller does do that (only google play store apps, not samsung store)s6 Edge plusIMG_2924Samsung galaxy

Included headphones, USB cable and fast charger. Those headphones aren’t in ear so to me they feel weird.s6 Edge plusIMG_2925Samsung galaxy s6 Edge plusIMG_2926Samsung galaxy s6 Edge plusIMG_2927Samsung galaxy

Plastic film is still on. Don’t worry.s6 Edge plusIMG_2928Samsung galaxy

Oof. The way the edges bleed to the side.

There’s a pretty decent front facing camera and a single press finger print reader as per s6/s6 edge originals. No more swipe and fails (maybe the fails) like the note 4.s6 Edge plusIMG_2929Samsung galaxy

The bottom looks like an iPhone. The S6 regular more so.s6 Edge plusIMG_2931Samsung galaxy

It’s 157g or so. It feels light. Like it doesn’t have a battery. The way the% went from 50 to 37 in a few minutes, it might as well not be. But it was installing loads of things and updating at the same time…s6 Edge plusIMG_2932Samsung galaxy

Nothing at the top, just the nano sim tray.

Already full of finger prints. The case at carphone warehouse was £40 for one! I took up the insurance instead.

The screen looks like a sticker.

Now the screen is on, there’s a bit of a dark rim on the side where the panel meets the phone. s6 Edge plusIMG_2939Samsung galaxy

Anyway that’s it for now.
