Screen Shot 2016-01-04 at 19.57.46This morning facebook’s Memories feature highlighted a post from 5 years ago, a little package from Suomi, Finland. How swiftly things have changed since then, but Nokia’s still making news in other ways. Today, Nokia’s move to take over Alcatel-Lucent (at a cost of 17 BILLION USD) becomes the biggest transaction in Finland’s corporate history.

Back in 2013, Nokia took over their network partner, Siemens (after getting a cash injection from selling D&S). Last year, HERE got sold of to the big German auto-manufacturers, thus focusing Nokia’s attention to just advanced technologies pursuits and of course, the network business.
