Carl Zeiss optics in the New Nokia smartphone?

The specification race probably isn’t somewhere new Nokia branded smartphones want to run. Frankly it seems that we’ve reached that stage where they really don’t need to anymore. The differentiating value is in design, certain UI optimisations and possibly, camera.

A lot of Nokia fans want to see that ‘old Nokia’ expertise whereby Nokia as a company SLAUGHTERED every other competition with phones years ahead of their nearest rival. This might be a big ask given the current situation, but it would be a nice surprise.

At the very least for me, I’d be seeking something that can take consistently great photos. There’s some rumours that the upcoming Nokia smartphone might have zeiss optics. Now that’s interesting given that Nokia originally formed a partnership with Zeiss when the N90 came out and Nokia devices and services bought by MS meant Zeiss was with Microsoft.

But Microsoft sold back the mobile assets to Foxxconn and HMD. Does that include Zeiss? What of PureView?

Source.

Cheers Alvester for the tip!
