Nokia 6 – Why 6? Nokia’s ‘first’ Android is Nokia’s 6th Android (X, XL, X+ X2, N1) device

Sure, we’re mincing with words here. The Nokia 6 is the FIRST Nokia Android Smartphone post the whole MS ordeal thing. It’s also HMD’s first Nokia Android.

Like our readers have been discussing in other threads, there were other Android Nokias prior to this. But ‘first’ has a better ring to it hence why it’s on a few headlines (e.g. the 150 being the ‘first’ Nokia after come back. I’m sure we’ll still have the ‘first’ global Nokia Android at MWC 2017 :P)

Some have said in the past that the Nokia X ‘Android’ phones weren’t strictly Android as most know it. And the N1 of course isn’t a phone. But device wise, the Nokia 6 is the 6th Nokia branded device that is powered by Android.

I’m guessing that’s why the Nokia 6 is called ‘6’ rather than some other meaning? 6 is meant to be one of the lucky numbers in China.
