Video: 6 Homescreens for Symbian^3
This video shows Symbian^3 with 6 homescreens. This is achieved via custom firmware. I think at one stage of development, S^3 did have this many if not more homescreens but it was reduced to 3.
In upcoming firmware PR2.0 this is increased to at least 4.
Skip to 1:40 to see switching between all 6 homescreens. Prior to that, you’ll see addition of homescreen pages.
Samsung’s Bada and their skin on Android had 10 homescreens. I thought this was ridiculous since 1) their widgets were stupid – like 1 per page at the time of announcement meaning endless swiping. It’s better now because you can quickly tap the button to switch to a particular homescreen. With Symbian and this custom firmware, I don’t think you can. I did have an idea a couple of years ago about 9 homescreens for Maemo 5. This was a little too confusing though the method did mean every homescreen is accessible in one swipe.
