Belle Style update for S40?

I got a tweet from @eveconnected to a blogpost about S40 getting Belle style UI. I think we’ve seen something like this before (though not posted – or was it just Belle/Anna icons?).

This morning we posted about Belle on N8/E7, photoshopped/leak or whatever.

You’ll note that the time is all identical. 2:18, as it is here on S40. Any significance in 2:18? It even comes with back, select and options (no search). Font seems to be more consistently using Nokia Pure. Interested in updating your S^3 handset right now to Nokia Pure? See http://mynokiablog.com/2011/03/27/change-to-nokia-pure-font-now-tutorial-included/

There’s also option now to have a background image in Menu that’s user selected (and not just by theme). We can’t even do this on Symbian right now – just for the homescreen. The status bar is also more streamlined to Belle, except for the signal bar which suits this S40 being smaller screened with less pixels to play with. I don’t know what I was looking at. Signal bar is the same. Seems all photoshopped. 🙁 Why people bother doing this I don’t know.

This is what C2-01 looks like now. I don’t know if it does grid menu like S40 touch and type.

I’m liking the renewed consistency between the devices. As we’ve seen, MeeGo from the Jesse’s Girl video looked pretty similar too.

Oh man, imagine if the plans had worked/finished sooner. Qt for Symbian, MeeGo, and possibly S40 too.
