Nokia “Not as dire as feared” as RBC raises Nokia’s Q3 outlook

There's some bite left in those gummy teeth!

You may have read yesterday as reported by BGR that according to Mark Sue, RBC Capital Market analyst, Nokia’s situation may not be as bad as we’ve all been understandably fearing.

  • Q3 shipment estimate increased to 100M devices from 89m
  • Reiterates “outperform” rating on Nokia stock
  • Demise of Symbian Sales not as steep a drop as previously expected
  • Good response to Nokia’s dual-Sim devices.
  • Feedback on Nokia Windows Phone may be encouraging, with launch before holiday season.
Poor Q2 and Q3 2011 had long been expected, with Nokia even pointing out potential losses. Is there any way Q3 could be salvaged? Q4 with new Belle handsets, N9 MeeGo-Harmattan, Windows Phone, new dua-sims and more aggressive marketing could at least end 2011 on a high note.
