Stronger Q3 than expected for Nokia?

Due to the new strategy, uncertainties and severely high competition, Nokia’s Q2 performance was to put it lightly, not their best. It was a trend expected to continue for Q3 since essentially the new strategy still isn’t in place and the portfolio is still markedly the same. The recovery was expected to begin in Q4.
Times of India reports however that According to Nomura, Nokia may post stronger than expected Q3 results, with Nomura analysts upgrading Nokia’s shares from “reduce” to “neutral” with Nokia expected to break even as opposed to a loss. They also confirm a much more positive outlook for Q4.
In Q4:
- Existing handsets upgraded to Belle
- New Belle handsets more widely available
- Nokia N9 more widely available
- Nokia Windows Phones launched and available
- Possibly more S40 phones to prop up the bottom line
As this new strategy begins to be executed, I just hope to see it completed fully and not be messed around again with yet another new spin and more transition years. Nokia could do some pretty big things in 2012. Hopefully they’re bring something awesome out before the world ends, hey?
