Skydrive Photo Sharing Services Updated, Supports Higher Resolution Images and Gifs

Skydrive is an essential part of Windows Phone, as it carries out all the photo backups and social sharings. The Skydrive site itself (not the app) has just received a pretty hefty and cool update, bringing support for higher resolution images (Lumia 1020 users  rejoice) that automatically scale up to the largest resolution your screen and device can support.

 The screens for viewing photos are getting better too – especially high DPI screens like the ClearType Full HD and Retina displays. So now, SkyDrive.com supports these high DPI displays by measuring the DPI scale of your device. When your screen supports it, we show higher resolution photos and thumbnails. So you see more of your real photo instead of a thumbnail that gets up-scaled (note: not all browsers support high DPI yet).

*At least we know Microsoft knows Full HD displays exist, now bring them to Windows Phone faster!

The public sharing folders are now much nicer and improved, plus albums now support gif sharing! Yay!
