PureView vs UltraPixel: It’s not even a close race, the Lumia 1020 outclasses and destroys HTC One in every category
PhoneArena compares the Nokia Lumia 1020 with the HTC One. The bit I’m most interested in of course is Nokia’s offering in the camera, mainly because readers on another site seemed to harp on about how much better the One was (despite what the rest of the world’s reviewers said). Jump to about 08:35.
Note when they talk about modes for the HTC One, you can achieve the same thing with ‘Lenses’.
“It’s not even a close race in the photo and video quality department. The Lumia 1020 just outclasses the HTC One in every category from details, colours, dynamic range, low light performance, it’s just the absolute winner between the two”
“When it comes to image quality, there’s no question about it, the Lumia 1020’s 41MP camera just destroys the ultrapixel camera on the HTC One.”
For video it’s a clear win for the Lumia 1020, and you also get that cool 24PS mode for cinematic videos.”
In terms of imaging, the 1020 is the one to go for.
Credit where it’s due, the HTC One is a very nice, well rounded phone. We’re still waiting on MS of course to break down the hardware limitations and feature set so we can all tick boxes on paper and truly leave things to just the few differentiating factors that would of course, help push Nokia ahead.
Fortunately the 1020 is still a pretty great phone. As Gizmodo said, finally a terrific camera in a great phone.
