For every great advert we see at Nokia, there’s possibly 10 dreadful ones. I’m not going to go on yet another rant on marketing but I just wanted to point out the inconsistencies again between different regions.

Being Monday doesn’t help the mood, haha.

In the video, the mighty ‘Rez-Tu-Lo’ teaches the art of #Taekfoto. A bit like the MS ad on the kids nativity thing where you don’t have to fight for the front seat. But this, and the Nokia France ad shows how different two ads can be whilst still showcasing the same thing. In the Nokia France advert we actually see the Nokia Lumia 1020 and that ability to capture so much detail. Do you in this one? Does it talk more about competing products (well in a way it doesn’t talk about any product at all!). Whilst the Nokia France ad may be a little risqué, this is universally lame and potentially offensive (read the YouTube comments – though I don’t know if that’s part of the Sammy online comment brigade that they used to defame HTC and were subsequently fined for). They could have just used the same Nokia France idea but with other interesting findings.

The bad production value might have been part of their attempted appeal but it all comes across as lame and unnecessary.

I was going to say it reminded me of the end of the Nokia Dubai parachute video which if you watch it, this is linked to. I wish they just left that Dubai video at that.
