HERE Wants YOU. Join the Map Creator community
HERE Tweeted a call for more users for their Map Creator.
If there’s an area you know well that needs adding or a bit of correction, then HERE welcomes your input.
Once you sign in, you can add info about road changes (add or edit a road), report map problems (add and edit places), basically help improve accuracy to your area.
Here’s a post from nearly two years ago where HERE talks about using real people to map the real world. I think crowd sourced mapping info was something Nokia fans had been wishing for, for a very long time.
Using real people and their data, it’s a lot faster to recognise changes in the roads that cars will be driving on. How annoying is it when your fastest route was unaware of road works (let alone traffic/accidents). Â For the last 3 years of Uni, delivery peeps who used TomTom were never able to find my house as it was a new build. I got the first year we lived there but 3 years and it still happened?
To an extent, traffic management portions of some navigation apps do help with sudden changes. But more permanent ones which might take time due to mapping data not being collected again would be better served by people who know the area correcting the info of their neighbourhood.
