Lumiappaday #183: Tiki Towers demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800 XboxLive

Advertisements Tiki Towers is a great, addictive little puzzle game. You have to build structures (towers/bridges etc) for your monkeys to climb, get the bananas and reach their destination. Your building material at the start is bamboo but you’ll also get coconut and vines. The amount of material you have is limited so create wisely. […]

I know, the name is pathetic. If you have a better idea, let me know. Anyway, so I’ve brought to your attention an app called Home Screen Settings. It is truly the greatest home screen hacking tool out! Currently, it can; Unlock/Lock devices orientation Remove the weather widget from events view Show only white text […]

Somewhat of an odd shooting game I came across. It’s a mix between classic arcade shooting style with some 3D-esque environment. As noted in the review comments, it’s pretty much Space Harrier from the Sega Mega Drive.   #182) Gridrunner Girl  Price:  £0.79 Link: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-GB/apps/19c6d4f1-ee63-e011-81d2-78e7d1fa76f8 Video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_JD7mIfzX0  Developer Blurb:   classic arcade space shooter action meets […]

90,000 Apps on Windows Phone Marketplace

| May 15, 2012 | 90 Replies

Just a heads up. There’s now 90,000 Apps for WP marketplace. Rafe has the usual breakdown of the details as always: http://allaboutwindowsphone.com/news/item/14819_Windows_Phone_Marketplace_pass.php This makes it a total of (probably?) over 200,000 apps available collectively for all Nokia devices, were we to measure it like that – I mean, Nokia Store is itself a collection of […]

N9Apps: Easy Answer

| May 15, 2012 | 25 Replies

Its been way too long since my last N9Apps post. I am going to try to do at least one a week. Now today’s app is called Easy Answer. It’s another one of those apps that just makes the N9 easier to use. What does it do? It runs in the background (if enabled) to […]

Lumiappaday #181: Flight Control demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800 XboxLive

So this is Flight Control – it’s what the Airport game that I’ve demoed on the N900 and N9 is based from. The gameplay is thus about getting the planes to the right landing tracks. Big planes go on the longer runway, the little one on the little runway. You’ll also notice a H. That’s […]

Lumiappaday #180: PAC-MAN demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800 XBoxLive

This game needs no introduction. It’s PAC-MAN! The game is controlled by a virtual joystick at the bottom. This  has all the effects and sounds of classic PAC-MAN (unlike the clone versions). At £3.99 it’s hard to recommend for a bit of Nostalgia. It is still as ever, fun to play. As usual, there’s a […]

Lumiappaday #179: The Impossible Game demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800

This is one of the most addicting/frustrating running style games out there. It’s called, quite aptly, ‘The Impossible Game’ because that’s what it feels like. If you can calm yourself enough to keep giving it a go, you might be there for a while. Mistakes mean an instant death and restart at the very beginning. […]

iBomber Defense for S^3 – Demoed on N8

Here’s a pretty cool game that was just released for Symbian devices– it’s called iBomber Defense and it’s pretty sweet. I think the N9 did a pretty decent job focusing on such small movements on the screen- quite impressive. http://store.ovi.com/content/224846?clickSource=search&pos=1 Source
