Nokia USB TO GO demo pic

Lucky Ahmed360from arabnokia (via finestfones) has posted a shot showing Nokia N8’s USB TO GO in action.

You’ll see it’s recognized and you can navigate the files all from the N8.

This means you can plug in memory sticks (possibly larger powered external hard drives) and manage files with your N8.

  • Great if you’re in need of some files from a friend’s memory stick but there’s no intermediate PC at hand for transfer.
  • Another advantage to this of course is if you have a library of media/videos on an external HD.
  • You might be able to have your N8 connected via HDMI and then play your videos/movies directly from the hard drive without needing to transfer to the N8

This is included in the sales package. As you can see from the instructions with the random N97-esque phone, that is NOT where to connect the cable. The N8 has the microUSB slot on the side.
