Here’s another look at Plasma UI on MeeGo touch/netbook devices.

This Plasma UI isn’t even alpha quality from the video above. It looks like a tech demo showing off screen swiping and nothing more. There are simply no inherent traits which would help a user to be more productive using this UI.
the significance is that it was done using qml…you can create app interfaces in qt using qml in significantly less time than using native code. Main reason being that the exact app can be written for one device and deployed with almost no changes on a myriad of others with no fuss
Not sure how much QML is in PLASMA UI. it’s a pre -alpha and I don’t think we will see a final release until Q3-Q4 2011. It will be faster once they introduce qt-scenegraph and all the UI will be hardware accelerated. from what I’ve seen you can do some complex animations and still running smooth.
