Video: Air based Hand Gestures on MeeGo EeePC IVI

Here’s an applilcation on MeeGo that allows air based hand gestures (i.e.  not touching the screen).

That’s a little Xbox Kinect like no? Well actually we’ve seen something like this during the Eye-toy days with none other than the N95 with the camera detecting hand gestures to control the applications on screen.

This however is intended for In Vehicle Infotainment and if you think about it, could be pretty useful when driving as all you have to do is wave your hand left/right e.g. to change music track and not remove your hand from the wheel. Or back seat passengers (if there’s no console at the back) can change the track without having to reach all the way to the screen.

Cheers to Keith and Jim for the heads up!
