Accessories: Video demo of Nokia DAB Radio headset and app.
Remember about a couple of weeks back, we had a DAB Radio update? This was limited to users where DAB was being transmitted, plus you needed the accessory (which plugs in via microUSB) to get it working. We’ve got a couple of DAB radio’s at our flat. Very crisp, clear sound compared to standard FM radio, PLUS you get so many more stations. There’s an all or nothing in terms of quality. You either get the station or you don’t, unlike FM where you’ll suffer the hiss.
Below, nokiauk have a demo of both accessory and app in action:
“Enjoy high-quality DAB radio on the go with the new DAB Radio Headset exclusive to Nokia. The multi-functional device allow users to easily switch between over 70 digital radio stations nationwide, control their music and manage their calls with this all-in-one headset. Available free for a limited time only from the online Nokia Shop. http://nokia.ly/gfMc2X“

i want one of these but the cost for just one is unbelievable i wish i bought my n8 now so i could have got it free
45GBP is a lot for the headset maybe when the price falls to about 20?
does dab work outside of the uk/europe ?
i noticed the headset seems to only be available in the uk.
somewhat related: do the buttons on the headphones that shipped with the N8 work for anyone? none of my buttons work -_-
Try starting the App first before plugging in the headphones. Worked for me in conjunction with the FM radio
I think this headset works in countries which adopt DAB: Germany, Swiss,Belgium, Norway, Portugal etc.
You can get here a more complete list of the countries using DAB or DAB+ emissions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countries_using_DAB/DMB
i want one (without the wires please … over bluetooth or … )
is that the same headset as for mobile TV (DVB-H) ??
see http://www.nokia.nl/ontdek-alle-toestellen/accessoires/alle-accessoires/headsets/headsets/nokia-mobiele-tv-hoofdtelefoon-dvb-h
No: DAB Headset is CU-17 A
DVB-H is CU-14A
Have you tried to push the headset entirely down the slot on the N8?
This headset really needs “a hard push down” to function..
Fantastic article buddy!
