I meant to demo this app many months ago, and now whilst trying to check why my videos are loosing frames, I thought this would be a good subject for my test.

The app is called “Balance Toy Bricks”. It’s available for all Symbian touch phones (S60V5/S^3) and it’s free at the Ovi Store. Update: Ah, it’s taken so long for me to post this vid it’s no longer free.

The game is simple enough.

  • Toy bricks fall and you have to balance them on your wooden block.
  • The wooden block is on a pivot. If a brick falls on it, it will become heavier on that side and eventually fall, so you must balance it with your fingers.
  • You have to keep it balanced for four seconds
  • Eventually gets harder as more bricks and different shaped ones appear
  • The bricks can be controlled by accelerometer
  • Pachelbel canon remix constantly on loop.
