When I made this image a couple of weeks back, this coming true was the last thing I thought would happen

So, we’re several hours into the news of Nokia and Microsoft partnership. Have you taken it all in yet?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how p*ssed off are you with today’s Nokia News? 1 -not at all, quite positive, 5 indifferent, 10 = fuming.

I’m on the ANGRY stage. I hope that I’ll be able to get my head around it as I find out more.

I think I’m somewhat going through the seven stages of grief for Qt/Symbian/MeeGo and possibly eventually Nokia.

Stages of Grief:

  1. Shock – WHAT? Senses overload
  2. Denial – WHAT? No, this isn’t happening?
  3. Anger – WHAT THE FK? This is stark raving ridiculous! What could you possibly gain from this?
  4. Bargaining WHAT?!?! BRING BACK ANSSI! We love MeeGo and Symbian, we’ll love it more just don’t go the WP route! I don’t mind the crappy camera UI anymore on Symbian.
  5. Depression *noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!* *sobs*
  6. Reconstruction – Well what can we do now with Windows Phone. Become a little bit more informed of the situation without the anger, sadness and other emotions clouding your mind.
  7. Acceptance and Hope – These are the great things Windows Phone can do for us. John has outlined some things here and there are many more points that people are pointing out today based on Nokia’s new strategy. Scobleizer’s really upbeat about it too.

I realise that there are also many folks feeling positive about this announcement FOR Nokia (it’s very easy to be positive for Microsoft camp or perhaps competitors – effectively killing their biggest competitor, Symbian, and something that had such awe-inspiring promise.
