Video: CuteBox – Qt Dropbox client demoed on Nokia N8

Dropbox users, there’s something cool in the works. shows us a Qt based DropBox client. What is DropBox?

It’s cloud storage. What I like about it is sharing folders between friends. This means uni mates can pop files into our shared folder and it appears on everyone else’s common folder. There’s no further download necessary, (the pc client automatically downloads everything) so what you see in your dropbox folder is something you can easily move around/open/edit etc. (Not a good thing if you’re on limited bandwidth though. I’m sure there must be a setting to turn it off).

I had to use dropbox (mobileversion) to transfer large pdf files from my pc to my Omnia 7 because frustratingly, Windows Phone does not support drag and drop mass memory USB file transfer.

I would have much preferred an app for better thumb friendliness. Good news for Symbian^3 users, you’re getting one soon through CuteBox. moldovancatalin says cutebox is:

A Qt based Symbian Dropbox client. Still work in progress but I wanted to share what I’ve done so far, as so many people are asking about a Symbian Dropbox application.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Cheers Constantinos (@trashr0x) for the tip
