My Dream Nokia: #24 – Another look at QWERTY Nokia Concept sketches, Nokia E900, E9, E700, X1 and X8

For My Dream Nokia #24, high schooler, Joel Kangwende is back and has some more Nokia sketches for us.

We have the E900, E9, E700, X1 and X8, previously seen in #23.

As you can see, the first three have the N97/E7 style tilt screen and QWERTY keyboard affair, but with somewhat very elongated screen (harking back to the very early communicator days).

This was previously a lot stumpier, but now has become tall/slim. What screen ratios do you prefer? I’m a 16:10 guy (better for portrait QWERTY typing IMO, not too square, not too long)

Nokia is now getting synonymous with those slight tapering edges. Good thing should Apple get their way and prevent all rectangular phones with curvy corners (which is pretty much 90% of touch screen phones). OK might have over simplified that.

That curvy slider reminds me of something, I can’t place it though. I really like this design. I don’t want a rim around the edges that traps dust or prevents my finger swiping off screen. I think this would also work keyboardless, no?

About “My Dream Nokia”

I’m sure you’ve dreamt up your PERFECT Nokia device/UI. What it would look like, what it would feel like, what features it would have. Why don’t you share it with the world? Or at least with other Nokia fans :D .

It could be your own photoshopped or rendered work (seriously, you don’t need mega skills in either, basic paint job is often enough to convey a concept) of your dream product.

SEND this in similarly to tips@mynokiablog.com with the title “My Dream Nokia” and perhaps the model number (and a little description, maybe a few specs in the message area? Though this bit not necessary).

Who knows, maybe an image might flutter over to Nokia and through whatever route end up being real.
