UAProfiles of Nokia 500, 600, 700 and 701 (Fate, Cindy, Zeta and Helen) #Belle #Anna
OK lets take another look at the Nokia 500, 600, 700 and 701 that we saw yesterday in one form or another.
BTW, here’s what Zeta looks like (700)
And Nokia 600 (Cindy)
There were doubts that such handsets existed. Two have appeared in front of the camera with two left to show.
Further confirmation of such handsets appears at Nokia, again looking at UAprofiles. There’s not much to be gathered except they’re all nHD screens, there’s one Anna handset and 3 Belle handsets (based on the browser version present).
Nokia 500 -

Cheers for the tip, Janimatik!

Nothing too shocking I see.
I wonder that whether the 1GHz processor is OMAP3630 or some special processor designed by Nokia.
Nokia has done some business with Freescale in the past, could very well be that they will utilize a design from them.
There never was a Freescale SoC in Nokia
There definitely was. Maybe not in the most recent models (unknown so far which brand) but in older models with ARM11 designs @~400Mhz there were.
Looked up some info about Freescale SoC’s in Nokia’s.
The E71 and E51 along with the 5800 used a 369MHz Freescale MX300-30 unit. And I’m not sure about this but the N97 and N97 Mini both also used products by Freescale.
What happend to their naming system!?
Maybe just a first generation snapdragon
why they are 1ghz? Nothing special here. 680mhz was enough for this handsets
If N8 have had a 1 GHz processor it would have been a killer beast
I wonder what processor it is. Is it just Arm 11 based “overclocked” N8 processor. Probably is as these seem to be cheap phones.
Qualcomm 65nm Snapdragons or the equivalent are more likely than anything ARM11 based.
That said, they probably want to keep the base spec for their next generation of devices very similar so they might have a bulk deal for OMAP3′s and push it to all upcoming devices.
OMAP 3 is cheap nowadays anyway.
I agree about the base spec being very similar for the next generation of phones. I would expect there to be a bulk deal. It seems there was a bulk deal for the Broadcom GPU in S^3.
I would like OMAP 3. Nokia have previously used a lot of Texas Instruments processors in the past. From what I have read Nokia and TI have worked very closely in the past. My assumption is here is much knowledge in Nokia about running Symbian on TI chips.
I think Nokia signed a deal with ST-Ericsson back in Q1/2 2009 for U8500. Symbian Foundation used U8500 as a reference design. U8500 is a dual core I think. I would think U4500 would be more likely.
I would expect Nokia not to use Qualcom chips as the ARM core is customised too much compared to TI and ST-Ericsson as far as I am aware.
There is also Freescale. I think Nokia have used some Freescale processors before. I think i.MX53 is Cortex-A8?
I think Rockchip is also a licensee for Cortex-A8 or Cortex-A9.
600 mhz it’s ok for cortex A8 and not arm 11, i prefer 600 mhz cortex A8 than 1 ghz arm 11.
Absolutely agree. I also prefer 600MHz Cortex-A8 than 1GHz Arm 11.
I don’t think the arm11 architecture allow for 1GHz in phones.
ARM11 can allow for 1Ghz designs, but it could be that only 45nm made processor can reach that without much trouble, the 65nm is less likely to go up to 1Ghz
Anyway it would possibly be more difficult and possibly more expensive than just getting a Cortex-A8.
Either way getting a processor with the smallest NM manufacturing feasble would be best. More processors per area, lower power useage, less heat from processor etc.
The easy way would be an ARM1176(JZ F S) core. ARM itself states that it is capable of 1Ghz frequencies.
Cortex A8 would require some porting work IIRC so I’m 70/30 towards it being an ARM11 @1Ghz
Hope they come out with Nokia5230 level (in terms of price) Symbian^3 phones. C6 is still expensive.
trololol with the poor resolution
An important comment here…
These prototype phones are just showing that N8 / E7 and X7 won’t have any successor.
- No 1 Ghz phone with high performance photo sensor (and then no N8-01)
- No 1 Ghz phone with slider keyboard (and then no E7-01)
- No 1 Ghz phone with 4 inch display (and then no X7-01)
Ok, ok let’s move to the N9 then
A black one for me please !!
Mere paas jo hai kaafi hai I Love My Nokia X6 8GB
