fMobi…THE best facebook mobile client for Nokia phones?

| July 5, 2011 | 72 Replies

Facebook for Symbian is an after thought. The official Nokia App, Nokia Social, seems to have been created by someone who hates facebook and twitter. Fortunately we have Jan Ole Suhr, creator of the must have app Gravity, and Tommi Laukkanen, maker of many Qt apps such as Kasvopus (and TwimGo).  Their apps have been heros for Nokia users to these mega social networks. Users spend more time on average on facebook than they would on google.

Kasvopus was sleeker than Nokia Social but still lacked some features. I got an email from a developer who has made what looks to be a very promising facebook app for Symbian^3 – to come to MeeGo soon too.

The app is called fMobi and the developer, Juuso Kosonen, hopes it will be “THE best Facebook mobile client for Nokia phones!”

In main window you can select functionalities. When in some function, you have toolbar on your left where you can quickly move to another functions.

Almost in all functions you can go to user wall, by clicking the profileimage of the user.

Quickly like or show likes of an comment, by pressing the comment, and clicking the desired button when the comment is switched to buttons. If you like comment to user status, just click the status to get more access to it.

I love fmobi it is currently one of the best facebook apps for symbian. However one of the most annoying things about it, is that you can’t choose to ignore game updates in the newsfeed like you can on the desktop and facebook mobile versions. Trawling through ‘so-and-so added a new pig to their farm’ can become a little tedious.

Please update with this option and I will definitely be using it over the default facebook mobile thank you :)

Keep up the great work x
