Nokia N9 for Turkey – launch event on August 15

We got tipped the other day by Sezer who notified us of a Nokia N9 event happening in Turkey (and the teknoblog folks have an invite), which is not (yet) one of the official (by Nokia) or unofficial (by retailer) regions for Nokia N9 availability.

This event takes place on Monday, the same day as TabCo’s launch day (just coincidence, no connection).

Something worth noting is that by and by, countries we saw on the N9 FCC ID label are appearing.

South Africa was officially notified of N9 availability. Philippines had it’s own N9 page, as with Brazil and Mexico.

France? Turkey? Belarus? Ukraine? Khazakstan? Thailand? Asia Pacific (e.g. India) –  Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Maledives and Nepal. Philippines was already confirmed as an additional country, as was Brazil.

There’s stickers for Taiwan, Costa Rica,  Mexico, South Africa, and Argentina but they may just be for guidance.  Malaysia is already on the original list, as is Australia and New Zealand.

No UK though. Or Germany. Or Spain.

As noted, there wasn’t any for UK or Germany which we know for now don’t have direct Nokia or carrier availability (though there will be retailers making them available unlocked).
