Video: Rewind! Symbian Belle Trio Hong Kong launch Keynote

| August 24, 2011 | 30 Replies

In case you missed it, or even if you didn’t but the stream quality was too bad, here’s the keynote again.

This is presented by Colin Giles, EVP of Sales at Nokia.

This is what you saw if you watched the stream live.

Oh hey, I missed the part about the Nokia 600 having an internal antenna so no headphones needed to listen to the radio. That’s really cool, also paired up with the fact it has the LOUDEST speakers at 106phons. I hope also by being the loudest, it’s of decent quality.

  2. Bloob says:

The thing bothering me about the 700 is the 2GB internal storage.

Unscientific marketing graphs don’t work in the real world. Here’s one that makes more sense

@Bosh. BMW (=NOKIA) has different products i.e. 3 series (=symbian), 5 series (=wp7), 6 series (=maemo) and 7 series (=meego). Now, does that apply to the 3 series? NO!! That product does reach the end for a specific model until it is re-invented and breathes new life into it. That series cannot be discontinued either because there is a specific need for it and it caters for the lower, affordable end of the brand. Its for the mass market and brings the bacon home. The only thing that can end the life cycle of it completely is maybe the introduction of spaceships or maybe teleportisation!! That graph is often misconceived. You need to understand the concept of it to use it. Symbian was never dead. It needed new engines (gpu/cpu), new technollogy (belle/Qt) and fresher designs (N9 type of looks). Same product but new life cycle! Yes and S60 5th dies!

I get your point, but I just don’t get why Nokia is still trying so hard with ARM11 processors, EDoF cameras, and other outdated hardware.

i might consider 700 or the 800 for my wife. she wants a smaller and more reliable phone, whose Samsung windows phone is having a malfunction unlock key after just 2 months of use!!!!

  5. yvoclub says:

the man confused Nokia 700 with Nokia 600 and vice versa, hilarious and embarrassing !

  6. stylinred says:

I wonder if we’ll see a N8 replacement next year (with Symbian)

or is the Sea Ray going to be it? :(

  7. Rudeboi says:

I really like what Nokia is doing and there future does seem bright. They will be pushing three different os’s on the market which is basically a win win situation.

  8. dsmobile says:

I’m not sure if windows phone OS is ready to handle camera phone title very soon and I would bet N8 successor for 2011 and 2012 H2 will still be a Symbian phone.

I would take it with MeeGoHarmattan.

  9. gokul says:

he repeatedly telling ..we are not going to stop investing into symbian …how far?

  10. Usedtolovemeegoandnokia says:

Symbian deserves better than what Eflop did to it. It’s still an awesome Modern OS that just keeps getting better thanks to Qt.

The Nokia board of directors made a HUGE mistake in going with Windows Pjone

  11. bret says:

no matter what they do n8 still the best smartphone ever. Not just in camera but in its performance. Specialy when it has belle and nfc abled sd cards. :)

  12. Mike says:

I think that this presentation was rather interesting than boring the idea of this presentation is not to be show off but tell facts

Bloomberg bullsheet! Bllomberg = Apple shills! They won’t tell you how Apple and Google are stealing everyone’s data and how Blackberry hands over your data as soon as they are asked by any government.

USA presstitutes always trying to make this Finnish company look bad!

    • Nrde says:

If it wasn’t Nokia Siemens it would be Ericsson, Huawei or ZTE etc.
