Nokia MD-50W PLAY 360 NFC BT Speaker on Amazon UK, £123.44 (+ N9 Next week in Malaysia?)

Si tipped in that the Nokia MD-50W Play 360 NFC enabled all around bluetooth speaker of awesomeness, is at Amazon UK, priced at £123.44 with free delivery. This is expected to be available in just two days time (7th).

Amazon UK,

Whilst this goes with plenty of bluetooth NFC devices, this was a starring partner of the Nokia N9. You can even have TWO play 360s and have an anywhere, wireless stereo sound going on (at 246.88GBP)

Slightly somewhat connected, meh tipped that a Malaysian blogger has been invited to another N9 event. It says ‘media launch’ but I think they’ve already done that. This event takes place on September 13th. Other expected dates for N9 is September 23rd.

Cheers for the tip Si and meh for the tip.

    Oh Nokia y abandon Meego

    It could have saved you

  2. John says:

Is the speaker that expensive ??? mmmhhh still very tempted though.

  3. Harangue says:

Hmm, ‘media launch’ on september 13. That doesn’t really indicate public availability to me. But hey, let’s just wait and see.

That speaker is darn expensive as John above me also says.

    • Jay Montano says:

Yeah I was wondering that, but Malaysia already had their media launch for N9 some weeks ago. One thing that I remember being rumoured is that they may get N9 early. Well early by Nokia standards.

      • Harangue says:

Not really a point in doing a ‘media’ launch then, is there?

Sometimes Nokia, sometimes you just don’t make any sense whatsoever.

its a bt speaker so it does support non-nfc devices too right? With the conventional pairing?

Even the N9 page for Singapore is now also open with details of telco partners and retail stores.

I’m in Saudi Arabia on business until the last few days of this month the it’s back to the U.S. I really hope I can pick an N9 up from here before I go back. I’ve asked local Nokia shops and they still don’t have a release date :( . It’s looking more and more likely that I’ll be leaving empty handed.

  7. dongle says:

The J Headset was up on amazon.com (USA) with a release date in 5 to 7 weeks, but they yanked it for some reason.

  8. aboodesta says:

In other N9 related news, I went to a Nokia store here in Dubai, UAE and he told me the price for the N9 16Gb will be 2200 AED and 64Gb 2500 AED… 425 Euros/$600/371 BP for 16Gb, and 483 Euros/$683/422 BP for the 64Gb. I don’t know if he was just giving a good estimate. The guy sounded sure… If thats true, thats great news.

    • Simo says:

Interesting. Still a bit pricey, but I’d probably pay it. Did he give you any clues with regards to a release date? Nokia in Saudi just keeps saying it’ll be “out soon, either this month or next month” and that the price for the device is “still being determined.”

    • Shamus says:

683USD dollars for the 64GB is an awesome price.
Not “still a bit pricey” IMO…

That’s likley to be better than the price of an iP4 or iP5, anywhere.

Nothing as good as that in Australia, at least yet.

After I read this news here yesterday evening, I went straight to Amazon.co.uk and pre-ordered one of the blue speakers. I want this thing since its announcement!

  11. Dave says:

Order placed. I hope it’s good! Next up… the Nokia 700 for some tap to pair magic. Can’t wait :) We live in exciting times.

  12. Joshua Wong says:

    Thanks for the backlink :)

  13. Ksingh says:

Just did transit in KL and the guy in the Nokia shop in the Suria plaza told me that it was due for release on Oct 1st, i was only there for the day so i didnt bother asking the the price.

  14. Ksingh says:

    * the n9 is what i was referring to not the speakers.

A friend of mine got his hands on a couple of prototypes of those speakers back in July. They worked surprisingly well, really nice to bring with you to the park or the beach! :)
