Ovi App Wizard on Nokia N950 (MeeGo Harmattan)

| September 14, 2011 | Comments (2)

I can’t quite tell from the video as I’m viewing with a mobile connection but based on the title, this is Ovi App Wizard – well one of its products. Ovi App Wizard can turn a site’s RSS into an individual app.

Translator says this from the description:

Checked Ovi Store in my N950 yesterday and saw that 4st Swedish newspapers had apps …

They are not super-specific apps, but more simple RSS reader that links to the mobile home page of each newspaper. However, works Aftonbladet TV rss fine which was a nice surprise and it works really fast and easy to switch between video and app.

Yawn… c’mon Nokia, people aren’t stupid, they want real apps.
Apps as simple as this may as well be supplanted by a top-notch browser.
If you flood your app store count with apps like this people will see right through you.

zinus – the appwizard is a tool for lamers to create their own newsfeed. Nokia has no influence on whether this results in a flood of low end apps, or no. There is also QT SDK, meego, sdk, symbian sdk, python sdk out there for the real coders.

now, are you trolling their forums as well – do you even know about them?

i rest my case, no further questions your honor.
