Video: Setting up your Nokia N9 (Nokia Australia) (Updated – more videos!)

| September 26, 2011 | 25 Replies

Fresh from    is a how to on setting up your Nokia N9.

Apparently the soft cases are included with the N9 (not written on the standard sales package list).

Nokia Australia tells us that the softcases will appear in all N9 packages globally, but whether the case colour will match your N9 (as with Nokia Aus) might be different.

Setting up your new Nokia N9 takes a few simple steps. This quick demo gives you an introduction to your Nokia N9, accessories and how to get started. See how to easily adjust the date and time, set up your contacts via Bluetooth or PC and add the accounts you want.

Update: As Nokia Australia told us, we were a bit too quick to post this and they had not yet uploaded their other videos yet. They tweeted us that all four were now online.

Maps looks great. Check out the multitouch rotation going on of 3D landmarks. Pretty good there.

The rotation is not restricted to 3D landmarks, rotation can occur anywhere you want :) (Hands on with N950)

  2. BiboKid says:

    Nokia N9 is awesome!

If only Skype on it supported video it would’ve been great and also if it had the Viber app, Grocery shopping app, Dropbox notepad app, Podcasts app, Shazam/Soundhound, GPS apps with TeleAtlas maps… you see where I’m going? It’s a fantastic phone but it won’t have any software or support.

Great phone, but Nokia killed it.

    • BellGo says:

      True, true.

And it is being delayed..Still no bloody release date. =(

    • lovemeego says:

peregrine for n9 support video calling

      musikloud is awesome
      vlcemote
      mymove

      emumaster
      cutetube
just to name a few great apps for n9

What’s it got to do with you Troll3rror sir?? Don’t want it, don’t buy it. Want it, buy it. Is that so difficult to understand or do you make a living out of trolling?

    • Zinus says:

You need to invest some time actually genuinely looking for apps.
There’s a actually shit-load, & more than enough for the avg usr, considering the built-in functionality.
Peregrine (xmmp/jingle) looks way better than skype vid would’ve been.

Many of the other things you listed, i’ve seen equivalents coming or here.
Not going to dig them up for you, do your homework if you’re genuinely that interested in n9.

  5. LOL says:

I know you wish you can get the N9, but you spent all your money on iTrolls and Troids.

  6. Tiago Silva says:

Me, I’m worried about updates to the “built-in” functions. If Facebook updates the API and breaks compatibility with the N9, it will be up to Nokia to update and restore functionality (fat chance, or at least a year before it happens). Also, I seriously doubt Google+ will ever be a first class citizen in the N9 – which is bad for me because I have no Facebook nor Twitter but I was giving G+ a chance.

G+ is a great example. Development is for Android, but Google knows it has to build an iOS client. I wonder how WP7 will handle G+ (if MS is going to build an app, because Google surely won’t).

    • Nik Rolls says:

Don’t worry, I’ll build you an G+ app as soon as the API is available.

      • James says:

        Nik you’re a legend!!!
Qt + Maemo6 –> Vanilla MeeGo had sooo much potential.
t’was unfortunately kiled before it got a chance to get any momentum.
But the fight might not be over, just yet. *touch wood*

      • Abba says:

Nick mate, you are a legend! mate I ll be very happy to see apps of google map, viber(it is very hany app) etc on N9! I did request Nokia Australia to make a pipeleine in N9 to enable users to use android apps, but unfotunately it did not happen! Second thing pisses me of that Nokia abonded meego way before its launch!!! that really put a big Q mark infront of Devs. but i am still gonna for this no matter what variety of apps i ll get with this.
The onus of developing apps for n9 is over nokia lovers only.
Also, nokia has a built in Fm transmitter but no software!!! again we have to rely on third party apps.
