NEW!: Store QML Client at Nokia Beta Labs (#NokiaStore #OviStore) Belle like buttons
For those wanting a new look Ovi Store, there is an even never beta labs version. They simply call it Store QML client and you can see it is more refined and Qt-Beautified with Belle like navigation bar at the bottom.
We are offering members of the Nokia Beta Labs community a preview of the new Store client. Please help us in testing it before it is deployed in a software update.
This beta Store client will replace the current Store client on your Symbian^3 or Symbian Anna device, and it supports nearly all of the features as the official Store client (Web Runtime). The key new features this client brings include:
- Easier navigation
- Improved product details view, for a rich and fluid discovery experience
- Quicker, smoother and more responsive than WRT client

Store QML client is available for the following devices: Nokia C6-01, C7-00, C7 Astound, E7-00, N8-00, X7-00

Oh Actually, Not ovi – but its NOKIA store now
True. But until all devices and service areas are consistent with the branding, I’ll keep a mention of Ovi Store. Plus, my first thought of Nokia Store is the crappy online retailer for overly priced handsets, not apps.
we cud simply call it nokia app store.
Just a bit slow in loading, and need split screen typing buts its pretty cool. was one of the weak spots in Belle, but this update and hopefully another one, will/has made belle better.
Maybe you should comment it on the BetaLabs page, where that would have a greater chance of being read by the devs. Just sayin’

Sorry. I tried the Ovi Store link to item 5406 on Nokia E6. It was going to install .42

Basically because E6 has different screen they need a special/other version for it which is not yet ready.
What? Wasn’t one of the points of QML that “tweaking the resolution” had become obsolete and UIs fit themselves to the “canvas”?
Well I think it’s mainly “tweaking the UX” part.
So yes, it’s possible to be almost automatic, but if you want to make it “better” you can do that by tweaking things by hand. Also E6 is so different that it would be better to do that by hand anyway.
Agree. For example some of the texts with small font on the high pixel density will be hard to read, compared to big screen of E7.

This app is nice. The UI reminds me of meego.
Im honestly looking forward to symbian C as finally been making progress.
This ui should be implemented for symbian native apps just like N9.
Hope the symbian c update will bring it
where is the update feature now???

Yep. same thing here, just keeps loading.

Best thing is to do Reinstall, and soft reboot the phone

how do you soft reboot ?
Soft reboot – Turn off your phone, then press power button and keep it pressed for about 6 seconds, phone will vibrate 3 times, let go power button after that and then you can turn phone on
what happens when you soft reboot ? do i loose anything ? my contacts or apps ? pls tell me
I can’t sign in. I had this problem with the old app store. Getting fed up of it to be honest .. ‘network operation time out’
Same here. Got it installed, now cannot connect. Its something to do with the faulty ssoui app.

it doesn’t work right for me period. It’s just some fancy GUI .. with more problems than previous versions. I’ve gone back to the old version: http://lr.ovi.mobi/store/client-symbian-3/
