Video: MeeGo 1.3 Community Edition demoed on Nokia N900
Here is the super power Nokia N900 with Vanilla MeeGo, this time version 1.3 (CE).
It’s a shame MeeGo never made it to a phone (as full MeeGo) and most likely, with its amalgamation into Tizen, never will. Sure, Samsung may make some Tizen phones but it just won’t be the same.
You can see that MeeGo-Harmattan with the swipe experience is on a whole other level in comparison to MeeGo vanilla. I’m not sure I can even say it’s that much better than old Maemo. Imagine what Maemo 6 would have looked like had it received the development it was supposed to (and not hampered in preference of pushing resources to Symbian, as aleged by that interview with ex MeeGo head, Mr Jaaksi.
