Oxford Street, London – Full Nokia Lumia 800 Window Display at

@BenWood from CSS Insight tweeted the image above saying: “Nokia Lumia retail activity starts rolling out in the UK. Phones 4u (Oxford St, London) has full Lumina window display.”

At Nokia World, I got really excited that Nokia are taking the store front actively and aggressively.  As Windows Phone is pretty much unknown, it falls behind the identities of Android and iOS devices. There has been various reports that not only were customers NOT asking for Windows Phones as they had no idea what they were or that they even existed, but that if you did try, the sales agents couldn’t and wouldn’t try to sell it to you anyway (it was much easier to sell the much better established iThings and Greenbots).

As we have heard, Nokia have sent their guys around the country to train mobile retail staff. At their store front they will try to make something very eye catching with coloured tiles everywhere, something Nokia wants to associate with (though of course, tiles isn’t the end all and be all of Nokia Lumia).

What you see in the window was shown at Nokia World. It was a kind of wormhole type thing made of tiles that led you to the Nokia Lumia 800. Here’s what it looks like if you look at it directly. Ben was recently on video saying Nokia’s hurdle now is to get this in people’s hands. This along with their other marketing strategies should deliver some footfall into stores. We know at least there are people that want it. The French at least have the Nokia Lumia 800 at the top of the chart at the PhoneHouse, the largest independent mobile retailer in Europe!

Have you seen any Nokia Lumia ads yet?
