Chinese N9 gets Meego PR1.2 !!!
Those of you who’re lucky enough to already have a glorious N9 have undoubtedly heard of the upcoming update to PR1.1 which should bring a boatload of of updates including updated swipe functionality, improved boot speed, Chinese language support…. Although this update hasn’t been released yet; but there have been some N9s (black 64GB) spotted running a chinese variant of PR1.2 (AKA:V 30.2.). It could be the same as PR1.1 only for Chinese versions because it was considered as a separate update than the global version, but most likely it’s a different version.
Anyone have either updates 1.1 or 1.2 pushed out yet? let us know.

Nope , No updates yet.
P.S don’t worry if the update becomes available it’s most likely to show up just like an Email push notification so there’s a slight chance you wouldn’t notice it .
Hey be specific please
This is Simplified Chinese, different from Simplified Chinese
mybad
different from traditional chinese
In what way is Simplified Chinese different from Simplified Chinese?
Cha bu duo..
In many ways
Basically the way you write them. The difference between Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese Kanji and Korean Hanja are like difference between Latin letters, Greek letters and Cyrillic letters. Sometimes similar characters have same meaning (L in Latin and Λ in Greek looks similar and share same meaning), but sometimes more complicated (Cyrillic Р and Greek Ρ looks like Latin P but actually equals to Latin R, while Latin P equals to Cyrillic П and Greek Π).
Sorry,you are wrong.
Only update I have ever gotten was last week, SSH update
Apps haven’t had push notification of updates yet. Anyone else have same problem?
Got the ssh, but no app updates thus far. Shame, it was implemented so well in Maemo 5, I hope we haven’t gone back a step…
That update was pushed at the same time that Netview applications by Nokia was introduced and it heavily uses SSH server and client.

I haven’t had one yet, but I checked manually and there was nothing yet either. I’d like to know if the notification led in the bottom left corner is supposed to be lit while charging or not because mine doesn’t turn on anymore. I wanted to see if it was maybe a faulty led in it or if that how its supposed to be.
Yes led suppose to be lit. My led works as a breathing light while charging and when done charging it stays on.
yeah that’s what i figured from some of the videos. thanks for the reply ill exchange it out
M, it doesn’t light up for me either.
hey i think you should exchange yours for another one. here’s someone else with this problem

It’s too much of a hassle for something that barely affects me. I hope they fix it in a firmware upgrade…
Same problem here… whenever I want to update an app I have installed, I have to go through the store downloads. Refreshing the updates list doesn’t bring up anything…
I had already tipped this in the tips section and to jay this does not even mattered.
in India my N9 is updated to MeeGo 1.3 its amazing…in my dreams!!! WTF Nokia!!!
WTF, what is the problem with people when it comes to updates? Anna was released just a couple of months ago, at most. And already people are complaining they haven’t got Belle update for a phone the bought with Symbian3, an update NOBODY has promised to start rolling out yet. Now Nokia has promised PR1.1 BEFORE 2012. It’s the beginning of November and people are whining. I got an upgrade for my ancient 5800 last week. I’m very happy and surprised they even care about a phone that in many ways is in the end of it’s cycle. The same applies to Android, if you want a friggin ICS Android, BUY ONE and stop complaining. If you want a Belle phone, you can BUY A 701.
you mean people who own N8 or E7 should should upgrade (downgrade actually) to Nokia 701 to get bell…I bet you own C7
I bet I own a N8 and a N9. How much are you betting? And you’re missing the point. Belle is neither announced for N8, nor was it ever promised. So I regard Belle as a gift I might receive one day. Anna gave me a much faster and better phone than I actually bought. I am happy. I want the upgrade as much as anyone, BUT I want it when it’s ready. And I’m greatful they keep making a great smartphone better. PR1.1 for N9 isn’t announced either, I am looking forward to the upgrade, BUT as long as it is not New Years Day 2012, I don’t complain. Neither should you.
word
What you fail to differentiate is the meaning of announced and available. The Belle update has been available for a while, and stable (given the release seen at Nokia World with N8′s running Belle. Just because they haven’t announced it doesn’t mean it’s not available, ready for release in their repos somewhere. Fact is they *could* announce it, but they choose to hold back (perhaps for good reason). This is why some users are becoming frustrated, because they have no visibility of the reasons behind holding back a Belle release or other delays. In the eyes of the populous Belle seems “ready to go”.
By the time Nokia do release it, they will again be behind the times…. typical slow moving dinosaur. Sad really…
I work in software development, and I’ve seen these painfully slow rollout cycles from large companies. However in large companies shorter dev cycles *can* be achieved by internal re-organisation & utilisation of agile, test driven methodologies and achieve faster and more accurate release timeframes.
There’s a limit to how long a “coming soon” label can test peoples tolerance. Is soon “1 week, month, half year?”.
“Managing expectations” is something Apple do very very well.
Sigh. (from a N8 and N9 owner)
Naturally once it’s available in the repos somewhere people wan’t it pushed out and deployed unless they are given good reason otherwise!
I live in China, ordered my N9 from Expansys, and it came from Hong Kong. On the product information page on mine it says, “Nokia N9 – Meego 1.2 Harmattan,” then on the next line it says, “Version – 10.2011.34-1_PR_005.”
That Chen Zhe’s words is not right,if you want to know the difference, vist Wikipedia instead.
any update for my old nokia n95, come on nokia it was ur hero in 2007 and even today its the best give it too some updates
I live in China as well and Nokia official stores don’t have N9 available yet.
Meaning they have taken the bookings but the phones are not arrived yet.
Latest information I got from official Nokia shop was that they might get first delivery on 20th November 2011. So still waiting mine. Hopefully it comes with updated sw already. I don’t see other reason for delay.
I am in Singapore, I have received my update:
Nokia N9
MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan
Version:
PR1.1
(20.2011.40-4_PR_005)
