Video: Mobile Phone Recycling Explained in 2 Minutes

Nokia just uploaded a video explaining recycling of mobile phones. They explain how the old junk that was once precious to us, still is 300X richer in minerals than natural ores extracted from the earth. You may have seen such videos where they extract gold from these old components (I’d never sacrifice my 3310 for that though :p). In huge quantities, it’s possible to get quite a sizable amount of metals back.

When recycled, the old phones can turn into just about anything and apparently Nokia has the largest phone recycling network to do that.

For over a decade, we’ve worked hard to recover 100% of the materials in your old phones for generating energy, making new things and creating even more sustainable mobile smart phones.

Watch this video to learn more about how Nokia recycles old phones, accessories and batteries around the world. For more information, visit:http://www.nokia.com/recycling
