Wordfeud for Windows Phone is coming

| November 25, 2011 | 7 Replies

There are people that say the succes of a platform is measured by the apps that are on that platform. It appears Windows Phone is about to become a little more succesful in due time with Wordfeud entering the development stage.

Dutch based site WordfuedPRO is reporting that one of the people on the Wordfeud development team has replied to one of their mails with the following.

“Hi,

At this point we don’t have any plans for a BlackBerry version of Wordfeud. This may change in the future though.

However we have started working on Windows Phone 7 version yesterday.

Best regards,
Odin Borg Nordgård

Wordfeud, for those who don’t know, is a very popular cross platform word game currently available on iOS and Android. It’s basically the exact same thing as the analog Scrabble game. You get a set of letters and need to make a word with it in order to score points, as basic as you can get.

The time frame in whch we can expect the availabilty of Wordfeud is unknown, but there are enough people who would like to see it rather sooner than later. I just hope it won’t be rushed out like Whatsapp that is still a bit in a Beta stage.

Thanks Bas, for the tip!

I had this game on my recently sold iP4, now have it on my SGS2. When the heck is it going to be available for my N8? Symbian supposedly has such a large user base, even now, but once again we must do without while iOS & Android are being served. Just pitiful.

Perhaps you could email the Wordfeud team, referring to the massive Symbian userbase and asking why they are not developing a version for it and instead started developing a WP version (which has a very small userbase at this point)? Would be interesting to hear their response.

Yes, perhaps. Although, Iam sure their response would be interesting too, something tells me it most likely be also disheartening. Much like the lack of video feature within Skype concerning Symbian^3, again.

Yeah!! it should be available for Symbian too.. The user base is still high for Symbian.

I hope they will follow the KiK’s footstep and show some love. :)
