Super Mario Ringtone app updated (with message alert tones for unlocked WP)

If you downloaded Lumiappaday #14) Super Mario Ringtones for your Nokia Lumia, it has received an update whereby you now have shorter tones for message alerts.

However you would need an unlocked device. I missed the little warning/disclaimer page that appeared and gave instructions. I think the Chevron unlock – equivalent to a jailbreak though that is available with Microsoft’s blessings apparently. Not something I’d do since I want to encounter regular user type bugs not ones I’ve introduced by messing around with an unlocked device. That’s if it has such effects.

Anyway, in the image above you can see a grid of 8bit style icons. They animate themselves as they make their short and sweet sounds that are perfect for messages/emails. It’s a shame this is not customizable out of the box. (Perhaps it’ll appear as a feature in a future update, e.g. customizable ringtones in Mango)

To get the update, just to to the MarketPlace app and you’ll see (if you have it as a live tile) update notifications (in terms of numbers of updates available). Just click update.
