Video: Nokia N8’s Impressive smooth zooming and zooming range with CameraPro

I don’t think I’ve seen smooth zooming from Nokia videos since the Nokia 6630 (Charlie). I didn’t like the stuttering zoom. Even with touch slider it wasn’t ever all that smooth.

You’ll note that the zoom goes past the 3x digital zoom available by default. Damian Dinning specifically limited it to 3x because that was as far as you could go whilst still keeping the quality of the image, pretty much very close to actual optical zoom. But for some they don’t mind as they won’t be post processing anyway, to zoom in even further. Probably most consumers won’t know and might be annoyed when it goes blurry. Perhaps extended zoom should be given as an option but with a warning of image deterioration (from default camera?).

CameraPro is a big hit with N8 users for a vast number of features, this extended zooming being one of them.
