Nokia press release says Nokia Lumia is coming to Austria by the end of the month, available on A1, Three, Orange and T-Mobile.

Something else that’s interesting – perhaps again that’s the translator going bust:

From 5 January 2012 there is the new smartphone also at selected trade partners in Austria

New smartphone? Or are they still talking about the current Lumia?

Update: ah indeed translation poor.

What it actually supposed to have said was it is the Lumia coming to operators in December but to retailers in January.

At operators, usually with a contract: December.
Select partners, meaning electronics stores, usually without a contract: January.

Stefan who tipped this collected this information below:

From 5 January 2012 there is the new smartphone also at selected trade partners in Austria.

T-Mobile and Orange have sent out separate PRs and on their websites the Lumia 800 can already be pre-ordered. T-Mobile even says that the Lumia 800 will be in stock starting December 12, which is quite soon.

T-Mobile PR: http://www.ots.at/presseaussendung/OTS_20111201_OTS0293/neu-bei-t-mobile-das-windows-phone-nokia-lumia-800-bild
Orange PR: http://www.ots.at/presseaussendung/OTS_20111201_OTS0200/nokia-lumia-800-neues-windows-phone-75-bei-orange-bild
T-Mobile pre-order: http://shop.t-mobile.at/2197710010/1_1_3_5/a8fa4fb576e412673f94fb69735ecd2d/10011/index.html (choose “Nokia” on the left hand side and you’ll also see the N9)
Orange pre-order: https://www.orange.at/Content.Node/shop/handys/nokia/lumia-800/ (if you click at “Nokia” on the left hand side, you’ll see the N9 and the Lumia 800 side by side)

These two operators offer the Lumia 800 starting from 0 € with a 2-year contract

Cheers Stefan for the tip!
