Saw this over the weekend but had to push it to be seen on a weekday.

This is Phone Arena’s review of the beautiful petite Symbian Belle powered Nokia 603.

  •  Shares brightest display with Nokia 701
  • Pretty ergonomic, easy to hold though chubby at 12.7mm (remember when we considered that ultra slim :S. Still thinner than the Neo)
  • Wide viewing angles, excellent outdoors
  • Belle runs oily without hiccups.
  • Decent keyboard typing in landscape though too small in portrait
  • Good browsing experience
  • Panning/scrolling fluid enough though not as smooth as iOS, Android, Windows Phone.
  • Stutters occasionally when pinch zooming
  • Flash lite – just good to show ads
  • Pentaband HSDPA works well
  • Photos turned out in focus, decent in terms of sharpness but lacking in detail.
  • Colour representation pretty accurate
  • Fine dynamic range preventing over exposure
  • Consistent 30FPS 720p though lacking in detail
  • Indoor has fair amount of noise
  • Performance in line with expectations, it did not blow them away (er, 6xx series)
  • Good level of functionality in music player
  • Voice quality decent – other side complained muffled but clear on their side.
  • 7H battery, 20 DAYS standby.
Serves its purpose to be an affordable yet capable smartphone with Symbian Belle.
They note that now in the price range of the 603 are cheaper Galaxy Ace or S.E. Neo with “nice design, larger, more resolute screen and better camera with flash”. LG Optimus 7 also now in the same price. Crickey, 603 is great but getting some stiff competition. Note, isn’t the Neo like £300 whilst the 603 is about £200-220? Galaxy Ace (aka iPhone 4 clone) is about £200, same with Optimus 7.
