Nokia N9 PR1.2 v22.2011.44.2 on navifirm?

| December 7, 2011 | 38 Replies

ADER posted on to our tips page that another firmware has appeared on Navifirm for the Nokia N9. Currently PR1.1 is v20.2011.40-4.

New N9 firmware on Navifirm? 22.2011.44.2 appeared today on my list. Which PR is that?

What’s 22.2011.44.2? Is that PR1.2?

Here’s the last post that suggested what features are coming to PR1.2 with screenshots.

  • In the handling of applications Added a button to manage applications.
  • The interface now separates the camera flash options (and camera UI was already very awesome)
  • In the video recording interface separated the icon to turn the LED flash.
  • The buttons have a new style
  • On display there is a new option settings Colour Profile
  • Settings Gallery has a new option for face recognition
  • The menu to display an image and has a new option “Insert face”

PR1.1 is still rolling out in a few places, just today it was at Vodafone Australia for testing.

It could be a different locality variant or a minor update? (like v25 Anna or 7740.16 Mango).

Thanks ADER for the tip.

2 Updates in one month? Awful lot of work for an OS which won’t be pursued in the future.

Meanwhile Symbian users can rot in hell

    • ADER says:

The reason that I checked the Navifirm in the first place is that I’m still waiting for PR1.1 on my simlock free Danish N9. That’s one month after the first release of this update and still nothing.

Maybe I can go at once to PR1.2? :)

Someone having n9 please download it and test it quickly no..please? and confirm if its pr 1.2 or just a minor update?

  3. Chris_Skylock says:

I have an N9 64GB but our DSL (WiFi) sucks big time due to “migrating” so I’ll probably have to go with my N9′s WiFi Sharing ASAP. hopefully, NaviFirm wont give me errors on the download side.

I see the v.22, 20 and 10. OMG. I need to download it. How do I flash my N9? the same thing as the N900′s CMD commands or is it ok with Phoenix?

I guess for Middle East first

  4. Andrew Flegg says:

It’s not PR1.2, PR1.1 is 20.2011.40-4 so this is just an update to that build; as noted above, probably just Middle East build.

  5. jill says:

Nokia Lumia 800 has also appeared on Navifirm
    version 1600.2475.7720.11414

  6. N00-00 says:

If my understanding of Nokia version numbers are right, PR1.2 would mostly be 3X.XXXX.

Looks like 22.XXXX is a minor update to PR1.1 just like 25.X was a minor update to Symbian Anna

  7. Shaun says:

    PR1.2 is v30.x

If you look at the screenshot in http://mynokiablog.com/2011/11/28/nokia-n9-pr1-2-update-screenshots-camera-ui-updated-face-recognition-in-gallery-and-more/ you’d see that plain and simple.

I would guess this is just adding R-to-L support for the Middle East and that’s all.

  8. Jeettak says:

I purchased a Black N9 64 GB model from expansys last week. I am mighty impressed with this little beast of a device. The images you see on-line do not do this device the justice it deserves.

The version of the Firmware on my device is: 10.2011.34-1.232.2_PR_232, I’m guessing this is the original version of the firmware, does anyone know if PR1.1 is out in the UK?

  9. Mark says:

    its PR1.1 with Arabic support

  10. Gelas says:

Inwould think that this is the radio update that causing battery draining issue in both n9 and lumia ..

  11. aboodesta says:

guys, I think its just PR1.1 for us middle easterners. I sent a message to Nokia UAE 2 days ago and they told me PR1.1 is coming to us on the 7th, which is today, so this makes sense.

  12. siazshuakme says:

    I’m thinking of pr1.1.XX
Its should be minor update to fix bugs for pr1.1

  13. Glavata says:

Read that, it will explain how that isn’t PR1.2 and how it’s just to add arabic support to the vkb

  14. N8-02 says:

    My opinion
nokia is a fully powerful mad which giving two updates in a month for n9
    ,what about belle updates
Many symbian users waiting belle since many months

i will dont buy an nokia device again for waiting an update which takes 1 to 2 years of wait

  15. nabkawe says:

Yuppi its the Arabic Support version …

  16. Thepistol says:

Just got my n9 last night, outright.
It notified me of 13 app updates and a seperate firmware update
(20,2011,40-4 pr 005). It suggested in the notify screen this update will enhance nokia music experience along with many other new features.
It took about 30mins to install, I noticed just with the one hr play prior that the update has made transitions smoother and the touch screen less sensitive. I’ve looked for Arabic support but can find it.

  17. oho says:

No, it’s not PR1.2. I installed it today OTA, it’s a small update to support Arabic UI and input.
