Rumours: June 2012 – Best camera phone on the planet, Nokia WP to replace N8…
Now we had first heard that the Nokia Lumia 900 was going to have a better camera than the Nokia Lumia 800. Pretty standard since we are still to reach the levels of the N8 again.
Later there were rumours that the N8 successor would come in both Symbian and Lumia WP flavours.
According to a “trusted source” of TechPinas, there will be indeed a N8 successor that has WP (though it still doesn’t discount that there would be another n8 successor in Symbian)
2012 will be the year of Nokia Windows Phones. There’s a NokiaWindows Phone to be announced in June that will replace Nokia N8 as the best cameraphone on the planet
The Nokia 900 is expected to be announced early 2012, and thus shortly availably thereafter. This suggests that the Lumia N8 successor is a different phone. I hope the 900 can still beat the other WPs though. There’s no room for excuses this time. This is Nokia’s second round of WPs.
Elop has always stated that what we see in the N8 is a fraction of the brilliance possible at Nokia’s labs. With that fraction it has ruled the all other camera phones and other digital cameras. We want to see more in 2012 please.

Thanks for the tip, Jody!

But my info says this aweome camera will first come on lumia device followed by symbian both will have same industrial design but another news from the same friend who used to be in nokia s60 team the new device on symbian will also have a great symbian update coming up. just keep watchin he he …..
Hope yours words come true… I still wanna my symbian…
i want more meego, and no more wp
Im tired to see lumia in every headline of this site
seeing that you have such inside sources can you or the bloke who say he works for nokia tell us when belle wil be released? please the wait is killing me!!! if you cant say just say soon for earlier then february or just say late for that being its comming february like nokia said!
As much as I would love to try out a Nokia WP with a better camera than the N8, I still am very cautious about making a switch to WP. It just doesn’t offer what the N8 does in terms of my needs. I’m sure this stands true with a lot of Symbian users that have come to love the functionality that it offers at the price of a tad slower hardware and a bit of lag in certain tasks.

I totally disagree.
jesus nokia just show me the phone i am dieing a 12mp+ camera. My nokia n96 took better photos than my samsung focus that i have now. I cant wait for a nokia windows phone with a legit camera
I hear you. My focus takes better pictures than my lumia 800. I wonder how they got the camera on the 800 sooooooooo wrong.
the pictures on the 800 arer terrible and i dont see Nokia addressing this.
Really you mind to show me shots cause the lumia 800 has like no shutter lag according to the videos that I saw
It’s because of people like you that most phone cameras suck and aren’t likely to improve any time soon. Many people who want a good camera will run out and buy the phone with the highest megapixel value on the spec sheet. In almost all cases this behavior is simply a demonstration of the average consumers ignorance.
Camera sensors with high resolutions will have comparatively lower light sensitivity and color accuracy. The pictures we get from them aren’t any sharper and the pictures are just as discolored and noisy as the previous generations cameras with lower megapixel values.
We need to start demanding better picture quality and realize this hasn’t got much to do with megapixel values (not any more at least). Unfortunately, we probably won’t get this until uninformed consumers get access to easily interpreted numbers on the spec sheet (bigger is better) that relate more directly to color accuracy and light sensitivity.
WP only phones from Nokia == disaster
it would be disastrous if n8 successor has WP and not symbian… I’ll skip WP and wait untill an android or symbian device comes with a good cam and xenon flash
Same for me. Show me an andrid phone with xenon and i`m gone!
if theres no symbian N8 successor i’ll just cope with my N8 until an android device with a better camera
I totally agree. A N8 camera successor is nothing without bluetooth file transfer, usb-on-the-go, divx/xvid .avi playback, mass storage usb.
When i’m on holiday I need the possibility to backup my vids and photos to usb stick and many other possible ways. Also WP don’t support removable sd-cards i believe?
Maybe all these issues will be fixed by the time this rolls out. Isn’t Microsoft working on an update already ?
Either way, I rather have Symbian for sure.
I don’t know about the picture, but I look at that, the camera is not special like N8
Elop is using all Nokia’s resource to serve for WP.
Meanwhile destroying all Nokia’s previous asset.
Good CEO with brilliant history.
Master MS is just behind to see a puppet jumping
i just hope they release a dual boot device instead with all the “belles” and whistles of symbian + swipe + xenon + dual led flash + 4 inch ultra CBD + ala PSVita GPU or better.
addendum to my wish:
symbian and windows 8 (i know it would be better if its meego, but reality check says its near to impossible bcoz latter is open source. we know how msft treats open source projects)
if rumors will come true about msft buying nok, heartache for me will lessen SIGNIFICANTLY! as long as they execute and deliver my wish =)
that way, we’ll no longer see symbian and windows phone fans bashing at each other (perhaps)
nokia ceo please listen to THIS: 2 birds in 1 stone (actually more) – by granting my wish u’ll help the board of investors and most importantly us happy and:
-possibly migrate existing iPhone users
-retain and restore symbian loyalists to your camp
-stop android’s momentum
bullet points, POINTED – pretty please?
Why would you want Xenon and Dual LED?
Xenon with one LED for AF/Video light would be plenty
Dual boot? Keep dreaming.
i think I am just going to buy another N8 for back up and camp out the next 3-4 years
Symbian is the only OS does everything I need the way I like it, and I am not going to buy some cheap plastic phone with a slightly better camera, or a WP7 phone, that can’t even play divx files .. wtf.
Forcing Symbian & MeeGo fans to join WP will destroy Nokia. I think they will prefer jumping ship to Android. Android is much similar to Symbian & MeeGo. WP is much similar to Apple iOS.
How abou adopting webOS ? It is also Linux based, and supported by open source community.
Force? Don’t be ridiculous! You have a choice – want something other than WP, choose another OS. Simples
I don’t care if any new windowsphone will have a better camera than my Nikon D300s, I don’t want windows in my phone.
And Nokia N8 is still the best cameraphone on the planet…
I have to admit, n9 and maybe lumia 800 arnt good camera phones, obviosuly n8 kills em but that i can expect, what i am shocked is my galaxy s2. I know the screen is a killer on it, but even the quality of photos and video are so much better, never thought samsung could gain so much in camera lens when nokia have carl zeiss in them. Its more the small camera modules than anything else i believe. Come on nokia, lumia 900 with a decent 12mp, and a lumia 803 with 16mp xeon and 3x optics FTW
