#N9Hacks: Dynamic Calendar Icon (App)

| January 3, 2012 | 11 Replies

We brought you news about a dynamic calendar icon demoed on the Nokia N9, a few weeks back. It is fitting, now that there is an easy install for it, that I am including it as part of my N9Hacks series.

The calendar icon resembles that of iOS, changing to display the current date. At midnight, the calendar icon will change accordingly. (Not sure if you manually change the time to see the icon change take effect. )

For those who are interested, the app can be downloaded for free from the Nokia Store.

P.S Since I have the original complicated version, I have no idea if this will work exactly the same. Everything I mentioned above is based off my experience with the terminal shell script.

  • I can also see the time showing on the time icon….
how about the bird flying on the twitter icon? and faces on the contacts icon?

It has already been scheduled for tomorrow, stay tuned

        really? like what exactly?

I am referring to the clock. Twitter would be cool, but hard. Would need several icons, that changed constantly, in a sequential order, every few seconds. It wont be easy, so don’t expect it.

          • Just a thought…..
            coder knows better than me…hehe

It is a wonderful thought. I would love to see it happen. I could look into it, but I’m still pretty amateur at this stuff.

it works perfectly. I hope to see more mods turn into apps because this is so much more convinient to the common folks.

hey whats that Apps for Meego icon next to the Store?

    • Michael Faro-Tusino

Its sort of like a community app store. Go to to find out more.

Works flawlessly. I’ve had it installed for four days now.
