  1. Nokia sposta il quartier generale per l’Asia da Singapore a Pechino | January 5, 2012
  1. Heron says:

That’s sad to know (I’m from Singapore). Although given how China is emerging as the most important market for Nokia, it makes perfect sense.

    • Viipottaja says:

Went to Singapore once – beatufil city/country!

Agree, it does makes good sense to have Asia HQs in Beijing.

  2. BlueSwift says:

I’m from Singapore as well and they should really move to China. I feel sad that they are leaving, but Nokia has almost completely lost to Apple, Android and BB.

Let’s hope that Nokia’s future phones will be able to gain popularity and bring Nokia back into the smartphone race.

did you drew the flag using paint?

  4. exnokiacustomer says:

nokia almost extinct in singapore, i feel ashamed holding symbian 3 touch phone among the iphone crowds there

    • MyNokiaLife says:

Don’t feel ashamed, be happy. They have more malware than you.

    • Jaydee says:

Dun be ashamed, be proud that u’re unique.. ;) And if anybody asks why u’re still sticking with Nokia and assuming u’re holding an N8, juz show them how ‘magical’ FM transmitter is especially for in-car usage or how superior images/videos taken on the N8 are, compared to their ‘modernized’ phones or how downloading files from the default browser is ur given right or how bluetooth file transfer or streaming music/audio to bluetooth speakers is a ‘life enhancing’ experience etc. naah.. I’m exaggerating on that one.. But hey, u got my point..
Here’s a video I’d like to share ‘showcasing’ my own N8 at its current stage on hacked Anna firmware. Do note that I’m using a bluetooth mouse to operate it from 5m away.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Br8Q_v0T0s&list=UUHHpYs-a_Bgea4Vgqikafqw&index=1&feature=plcp

      • Carbonix says:

iOS/WP7 need “the cloud” because they can’t do local storage! Haha! USB mass storage, USB OTG and Bluetooth file transfers rock!

    • DesR85 says:

The fact that Apple released the iPhone 4S there two weeks after the US release in October, which Apple say is to thank Singaporeans for their strong loyalty, doesn’t surprise me in the least as to why Nokia isn’t doing that well there.

I’m Malaysian and also in the same spot as you where very few people own Nokias, save for the low-end models. Most of the folks here either use Samsungs or iPhones.

I do feel dwarfed when comparing my 6700 Slide to their phones, but at least I can blow them out of the water with the great pictures taken from my phone, provided that their cameras are around 5MP. So, don’t feel bad about owning one. If you’re feeling up to it, maybe you could buy either an N9 or Lumia 800 to spite the iPhone crowd. :p

The one thing I do dislike about it is the lag, even after updating it to the latest firmware. Most of the time it’s smooth, but sometimes it lags and even hang for a bit. Maybe it’s time for me to get a new phone with a better OS, but I’m just considering my options for the time being.
