Nokia Belle coming to Australia (and New Zealand) too
I had read somewhere that some people thought Nokia Belle might not be coming to Australia. Yvonne from Nokia mailed to confirm from the Australia team that there will be updates for both Australia and New Zealand too.
Hi all,
I’m very happy to share the official statement that I just got from our Australian team:
“We’re pleased to see that there is huge interest in Nokia Belle in Australia/New Zealand. We will make the Nokia Belle update available to consumers in Australia/New Zealand and will share further details as and when they become available.”
BR,
yvonne

Phew… Thank GOD!
Im in NZ. My N8 update arrived 2 days ago. I did get my phone via a parallel imported shop instead of a carrier though, so maybe that’s why it updated at the same time as the rest of the world?
Great update. Though the camera app is quite buggy, and videos I’ve recorded with it are all choppy now.
Not too fussed about that anyway, as it’s now my back up phone – shifted to an N9 back in October and there’s no going back!
Oh here we go again. another 2 month delay just like the Anna update
this update might be faster than the anna update. i guess it depends on the operator as well. last time vodafone took ages to test the firmware.
Nokia had a huge backlash in Australia and thankfully, some News Sites picked up the story and no doubt yielding to public pressure, Nokia decided to release the FW after all. They certainly got hammered with emails and forum posts.
Suddenly , the Technical barriers disappeared.
Anyway, alls well if the rollout doesnt drag on for too long..
Yeah, they were full of it for some reason…
I predict it will still take until April though
yeah, all those twitter posts to @NokiaAustralia worked…
so is yvonne a hottie?
good stuff, hopefully it’ll come soon!
Canada is still left in the dark with no Belle whatsoever.
I would really appreciate it if you guys would write an article about left-out Canada so that maybe Nokia wakes up and remember us Nokia users in Canada!
Thanks,
there are some Canadian variants of Belle on Navifirm…

As someone who has upgraded then folks count yourself a little bit lucky. Widgets are a mess on all fronts {the (lack of) variety, the way they look (shocking), poorly designed (e.g. e-mail app} also RSS feeds cant be added. More hassle to do many things than you could in Anna – e.g. powersaving mode or knowing how much battery life you have left. Apps not working, E drive apps going as well as C drive. So all need downloading. The list goes on and on.
At first glance and first playing with it, then the upgrade looks good. But when you start to dig deeper then it really is becoming a PITA.
The software version is from November 2011 FFS!
My product code is not listed in navifirm suite. I am tired of checking update for my phone through Nokia Suite v3.3.86 for 3days but all in vain. My phone was swapped by Nokia Care Centre due to problems of overheating 3months ago.
I have come here to solve my query or else I should sell the phone. Nokia has really made me pissed off!
Warm regards,
